It`s true I do not stand at the top of the hill just yet but I am working hard on my climb, I have my eyes set on a distant peak and its only the next step that I seek, I've had an amazing two years, where my prices have doubled, then tripled , not only are my prices going up, sales have doubled as well. I'm a full time professional artist, ambitious, cool and confident. The Australia Art world is opening up for me and International doors are unlocking too. I have high peaks to climb but they are well within my reach.

Can I share some philosophy with you?
Think of artists like sports stars. Talent is not enough today, you need ambition and guidance, you need to believe in your self 110%, You need to be driven and have focus, you need resilience, there are many hurdles to jump, and you need to make your own luck. You need to set your course, focus on your goal and put one foot in front of the other, until you achieve those goal and then set BIGGER goals.

 I believe every one is an artist, in some shape or form.

There are so many artists. How do you know that an artists work, may make a good investment: If we could look at real-estate for a minute some areas are rising in value and demand, they`re becoming popular places to live. There might be exactly the same house in a another area half the price,so its not the house that's worth the money,well not all the money, its the areas,the lifestyle that's worth the money and is a good investment because its in demand and rising in value. So perhaps its not the art work that's worth the money but the Name of the Artists. we all know this is true.

Ok so how do artist get a big Name:This may take a while to explain:
Artists, now we`re talking about unknown artists that may create a name for themselves or may not.

 Well lets take joe blow, he does fantastic oil paintings, great value but he doesn't show his work any where, he doesn't enter art competitions and rarely sells a painting. he`s waiting to be discovered, better buy a lotto ticket , Now another joe blow retires and becomes a great artist, of course they`re happy just to sell a few paintings and enter the odd award. And another joe blow has a full time job, is a great artist and sells paintings and doing shows and exhibitions on the side. Like there work,you buy it, but If your looking for an investment you have to look further.

Ambitious people ,the best sportsmen in the town that could play for Australia ,will have no chance unless he wants to play for Australia and works his butt off getting there? Dreams become reality, so look for the big dreamers. Look for the stubborn artists who won`t give in. Look for the one`s that make a living from their talent alone. You will see their work in the galleries, in the papers, you will see them reaching for the stars, you will find them on the side of the mountains, crossing the ocean, and flying on the wind. There are shooting stars passing you right now, invest in one You could be investing in gold.

Taking the next step for my fellow artists.

Winning an art award helps sure, winning a big art award helps true but this alone won`t make a name. Being a master of your medium ,this alone won`t make a name, having exhibitions, this alone won`t make a name, working very hard ,well that's great but you need more. Selling a lot of art work, well this is good but still no name. So why is some art worth a fortune and some art not, even though the skill and talent levels are the same. say $100 versus $100,000 No one seems to have the answers but there must be answers so here's some of my Phlosoify again: Ambition is the KEY word and belief in your self is a must, there's plenty of negativety out there. But you need a direction, a focal point well,the art world is governed by price and name you can not seperate these two.So its the market, the clients that you have access to  determine the price you can charge. Here it is: The clients create the name, the market create's the name, the bigger the market the bigger the name, ie ,international artist. So always look for the next step up to a bigger market ,don`t get comfortable selling to your little market or your home community.Think of this as just a start. There is no one out there looking to discover you. You must discover yourself. Let the paper know of your achievments,tell people about your goals, the bigger the better. Simply reach for the stars with all your might and branch out in every direction in sight.
